Sanctuary of Creation Unveils Policy-Ready Mediterranean Climate Resilience Framework at Bauhaus4Med Conference in Florence

FLORENCE, ITALY — Sanctuary of Creation officially launched its pioneering research framework at the international Bauhaus4Med 'Reconstructing the Future' Conference. Founder and Executive Director Serena Marija opened Panel 3 under the Aesthetic Green Architecture track, introducing the company’s latest deep tech paradigm to an audience of European policymakers, regional ministries, municipal mayors, and urban planning experts.

In a major dual milestone for the project, the research was simultaneously selected for a specialised poster presentation exhibition throughout the event and has been formally published both in the official conference Book of Abstracts and as a full peer-reviewed academic paper.

Decoding the Lithic-Digital Metabolism

The published research—subtitled "From Micro-Interventions to Policy-Ready Resilience: AI-Driven Ancestral Cybernetics for the Maltese Archipelago"—unveils a scalable blueprint for climate-resilient, neuro-supportive urban futures across the warming Mediterranean region.

At the core of the work is Sanctuary of Creation's ongoing R&I utilising the vernacular architecture of Malta as a primary technological laboratory. Through a methodology termed 'Digital Resurrection,' the framework maps the ancient, self-regulating cooling mechanisms embedded within traditional Maltese limestone structures.

By translating this "stone logic" into AI-driven innovations, the framework moves beyond purely theoretical sustainability. It offers a tangible, data-driven approach to coding ancient passive cooling intelligence directly into the infrastructure of tomorrow's smart cities.

"High-functioning aesthetics are a biological necessity. Spaces that contribute to cognitive poverty and emotional distress will not serve the generations to come. We must design places that act as 'metabolic envelopes'—spaces that actively protect our nervous systems, our vulnerable populations, and our non-human species."Serena Marija, Founder & Executive Director

A Consciousness-Centric Approach Under Interreg Euro-MED

This vision sits at the very heart of Bauhaus4Med, a collaborative international project co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg Euro-MED Programme. Interreg Euro-MED actively drives cross-border cooperation to build a climate-neutral and resilient Mediterranean society.

By shifting the architectural paradigm from carbon footprint tracking alone to a holistic consideration of human consciousness and somatic wellbeing, Sanctuary of Creation aligns seamlessly with the New European Bauhaus (NEB)core pillars: sustainability, inclusion, and beauty. The framework demonstrates exactly how these abstract ideals can be translated into policy-ready deep tech applications to protect regional populations from accelerating climate pressures.

Sanctuary of Creation extends its deepest gratitude to the European project partners, municipal leaders, and regional government bodies whose shared vision and collaborative dialogue make this cross-border innovation possible.
